v0.5.1 (beta)¶
Hiero: CutDetectorPro can now be launched from a track item in the timeline. The range used by the track item is analysed and the track item is cut up in place. See Hiero
Hiero: when launched from a bin item, the clip's in/out points are used as a sub-range
ffmpeg now ships with the app (a GPL build with libx264), so exporting sub-clips works without installing anything. See Install & Activate
Tesseract (with English language data) now ships with the app on macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 15+), Windows (64-bit) and Linux (x86_64), so text extraction works without installing anything. Other systems keep using an installed Tesseract
New Help → About CutDetectorPro dialog: license status, credits, which ffmpeg and Tesseract are in use (path, how they were found, version), system info and a Copy Support Info button for bug reports
The Shots Table can now be sorted by clicking a column header: ascending, descending, then back to time order. Exports and saved sessions always stay in time order. See Shots Table
The app looks for ffmpeg and Tesseract in this order: environment variable, Preferences, the copy that ships with the app, then your system
Exporting sub-clips now uses exactly the ffmpeg CutDetectorPro found (previously it could pick up a different one on your PATH)
The license texts of the app and of the bundled third-party software now ship with the app in a licenses folder, linked from the About dialog
Column names in the Shots Table must now be unique (ignoring case, also against the built-in columns). CutDetectorPro explains why when a name is refused, and the + button suggests a free one
Help → Report Issues... can now attach your system info (versions, operating system, which ffmpeg and Tesseract are in use) along with the logs
A clear Tesseract not found message when text extraction can't find Tesseract, instead of a silent failure
Hiero: each CutDetectorPro window now sends its results back to the item it was launched from, so multiple sessions can run side by side
Caching now respects the requested sub-range. Changing the range no longer starts caching by itself, but new frames of the range get cached if caching is already on
Fixed a crash when analysing single frame shots
Fixed the left/right arrow keys moving the playhead outside of the analysed range
Fixed the first table row not being selected after analysing a sub-range
Fixed page-up/page-down selecting beyond the first and last shot
Fixed clicking and dragging in the spike graph landing on the wrong frame
Fixed errors when the Ctrl/Cmd-drag rectangle started outside of the image. The rectangle now stays on the picture
Fixed the text extraction (gear) icons in the table header. They stay put when you scroll or resize the table, and hide when their column is mostly out of view
Fixed deleting a column. The remaining gear icons kept pointing at the wrong columns, and saving the session could skip one
Fixed the gear icon's tooltip showing the old name after renaming a column
Fixed a crash that could happen when closing the app

Added licensing system. A license is now required which is free for beta testing (join our Discord server to get the link). Activate the app via the Help menu.
